Treasure Island is a barrier island on Florida's Gulf Coast, between Madeira Beach to the north and St. Pete Beach to the south, with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and Boca Ciega Bay on the other. It is small enough to explore on two wheels and calm enough to explore by paddle.

Gulf mornings. The Gulf is usually calmest early, before the afternoon sea breeze. That is the time for a paddle board. Look for dolphins feeding along the sandbar and rays gliding over the sand.
Boca Ciega Bay. When it is choppy on the Gulf side, the bay side of the island is more protected. Paddle along the mangroves and watch for pelicans, herons, ospreys, and, in warmer months, manatees.
Stay out of the passes. John's Pass and Blind Pass carry boat traffic and strong tidal currents. Admire them from the bridges.
North to John's Pass Village. Ride an e-bike across the John's Pass bridge into Madeira Beach for the boardwalk, seafood, shops, and fishing boats heading out to the Gulf.
South to St. Pete Beach and Pass-A-Grille. Cross Blind Pass and keep heading south to Pass-A-Grille, a historic beach district with a small-town main street at the southern tip.
Quick hops. For a few blocks to the beach or dinner, an e-scooter is the fastest way there and back.
A 6-seat golf cart moves the whole family and the beach gear in one trip. Use the route map we give you at pickup to stay on streets open to low-speed vehicles.
Treasure Island faces west, so every clear evening ends with the sun setting over the Gulf. Sunset Beach, at the south end of the island, is a local favorite. On Sunday evenings, the beach is known for its sunset drum circle.
